Acer palmatum 'Skeeter's Broom' is an ideal Japanese maple choice for a mixed border or container gardening. Its large, deeply-lobed leaves emerge in a vivid crimson hue during the spring before transitioning to a purple-red shade in the summer months, and shift back to a bright red in the autumn.
